Fault codes, also called error codes or fault codes, allow your device toΒ automatically report an internal malfunction.Β Below you will find the list of error codes for your Bosch dishwasher and their meaning: this will give you an indication toΒ best diagnose the origin of the malfunction of your applianceΒ Β and identify the faulty component.

The fault code can be read directlyΒ on the front panelΒ of your Bosch dishwasher.Β Depending on the model, you can read this code on a display (for example, “Err 01”) or by observing the number of LED flashes (for example: 4 LED flashes = “Err 04”).

Refer to the instructions for your Bosch applianceΒ to find out the exact meaning of the fault code displayed or the lights that flash.Β The number of flashes often corresponds to the error code number for your Bosch dishwasher, but there are specificities linked to each model and brand.

ERROR CODE E01 – POWER SUPPLY

This fault code displays when the dishwasher detects insufficient power supply.Β This is what happens when the mains voltage is lower than normal or when the electronic card of the device is no longer functional.Β To resolve this problem, you must replace the power module.

ERROR CODE E02 AND E04 – HEATING ELEMENT

These codes indicate a problem with the heating element in your device.Β In this case, remember to check the electronic card as well as the machine’s heating relay.

Also ensure that the resistance is functional.Β To resolve this inconvenience, you must change the zeolite resistance and/or the power module.

ERROR CODE E03 – RESISTANCE

This fault code indicates a malfunction in the resistance working relay.Β The fault concerns the operation of the device without additional drying.Β For that:

  • Check the electronic card,
  • Check the working relay of the additional resistor
  • Check the resistance itself.

To resolve the problem, the power module must be replaced.

ERROR CODE E05 – WATER DIVERTER

This fault code indicates a problem with the continuous water connection.Β In this particular case, the current program is interrupted.Β This problem can occur when an electronic component, namely the water switch motor triac, is out of service.Β To restore your machine to working order, you must change the power module.

ERROR CODE E06 – HALL EFFECT SENSOR

This fault code on your dishwasher indicates that the Hall Sensor is not functional.Β It could be a short circuit in the Hall sensor cable, a fault on the power module or the Hall Sensor which is faulty.

  • Check the cables and connectors connected to this part
  • Then measure the voltage.Β If the voltage is correct, it is the Hall Sensor which is out of service and must therefore be replaced.

ERROR CODE E07 – DRYING

This error code indicates that the dishwasher has a drying problem.Β The machine works, but without the additional drying system.

  • You need to check the operation of your dishwasher fan.Β Check if it is defective or blocked.
  • Also check if the fan module is defective.Β Remember to check the fan module components and connectors.
  • If you have a zeolite drying device, check its winding.

It is recommended to replace defective parts immediately.

ERROR CODE E08 AND E09 – HEATING ELEMENT

The display of these error messages follows a problem related to the heating element of the device.Β There are three possible reasons why the device can operate without heating:

  • Either the cycling pump detects a water level that is too low in the hydraulic block (E08).Β To do this, remember to check that there is no leak at the heat exchanger valve or if you have any overturned pans or bowls.
  • Either the supply voltage is too low (E08).Β For this, there is no fault
  • Either, there is a problem with the heating circuit (E09).Β To do this, remember to measure the heating resistances and check the connections of this part.Β Check the resistor itself, the cables supplying it and the safety relay contacts located on the power module.

ERROR CODE E10 – HEATING PROBLEM

This fault code indicates that devices with zeolite drying have heating problems.Β The problem presents itself in the form of operation without additional heating system of the device.

  • Check the heating circuit, the fan module as well as the connections by measuring the heating resistances, components and connections of these parts.
  • Replace the parts deemed defective to resolve the fault in your dishwasher.

ERROR CODE E11 – HEATING FAULT

This error code indicates that there is a heating fault.Β This kind of problem can occur due to NTC resistance values outside the working range or due to cable or connector cuts.

  • Measure the NTCs and check the cables and connectors of the resistor in question.
  • If necessary, replace the NTC resistor to make your device work properly.

ERROR CODE E12 – HEATING FAULT

This fault code indicates a heating fault which is manifested by a lack of additional drying.Β This is a problem with NTC resistance values outside the working range.Β Then measure the NTCs and replace the parts if necessary.

ERROR CODE E13 – HEATING FAULT

This error code indicates that there is a heating fault in your dishwasher.Β This malfunction occurs following a too high water temperature which is above 75Β°C.

This error code does not indicate any fault in your device, you just need to check the water inlet temperature.

ERROR CODE E14 – FILLING

This fault code for your dishwasher indicates a filling fault.Β The appliance interrupts the program with emptying in progress.Β There is a cycling pump that detects water correctly, but the flow meter may lack pulse.Β To do this, check the flow meter (Reed switch) and its connections and replace the part if necessary.

ERROR CODE E15 AND E16 – FILLING

These error codes are both linked to a filling fault corresponding to an interruption of a program with intermittent emptying.

  • For errorΒ E15Β , it is the safety switch of the bottom tray which is activated and the inability to turn off the power.Β Find the cause of the presence of water in the bottom tray.
  • For errorΒ E16,Β it is a water inflow (presence of pulses at the flow meter) without the filling valve being supplied.Β Check the fill valve and its supply.

ERROR CODE E17 – FILLING

This fault code indicates that your dishwasher has a filling fault manifested by the stopping of a program with emptying following the detection of too much water inlet by the flow meter.

Check the fill valve flow regulator.

ERROR CODE E18 – WATER INLET

This error code indicates that your dishwasher is waiting for a water supply.Β The program with drainage in progress is then interrupted because the flow meter detects too little or no water supply.

  • It is advisable to check the condition of the water inlet by inspecting the compression chamber, the pressure switch and the solenoid valve.
  • For your Bosch dishwasher to work properly, the compression chamber must be clean.

ERROR CODE E20 – CYCLING PUMP

This error code indicates a problem with your dishwasher’s cycling pump.Β The program stops on your device, meaning no cycling is done.Β The internal test indicates erroneous values of the resistance of the cycling pump.

  • Check pump cables and connectors
  • Carry out a measurement of the resistance values of the windings thereof.
  • Replace the pump if it is defective.

ERROR CODE E21 – CYCLING PUMP

This fault code indicates a faulty cycling pump on your dishwasher which is causing the program to end due to a pump blockage.

If the cycling pump is blocked, it is normal for your appliance to interrupt the program.Β In this case, check that there are no foreign bodies present in the pump and change it if it is damaged.

ERROR CODE E22 – DRAIN PUMP

This trouble code indicates a problem with your dishwasher’s drain pump.Β This code is displayed in parallel with the end of the current program.

This problem occurs following the presence of residual water in the hydraulic unit due to clogging of the filters.Β To remedy this, simply clean the filters.

ERROR CODE E23 – DRAIN PUMP

This error code indicates a fault in the dishwasher drain pump and which is displayed with the end of the current program.Β Incorrect resistance values of the drain pump are the cause.

  • Check the cables and connectors of the drain pump as well as the resistance values of the windings.
  • Replace defective parts.

ERROR CODE E24 AND E25 – DRAIN PUMP

This error code indicates a fault in the appliance’s drain pump and is accompanied by the end of the program.

  • This may be caused by a leak in the check valve.Β First check the waterproofness of it.
  • If draining is impossible, it may be due to the absence of the drain pump cover in the hydraulic block.Β The checks to be made concern the water outlet: namely a bent/blocked pipe, incorrect drain height or even a poorly placed drain pump cover.Β Mount the cover correctly if necessary.
  • Only for models referenced FD 9101 to FD 9108, it may be a blockage of the drain pump due to the presence of foreign bodies in it.Β Then check that this is not the case.

ERROR CODE E26 – WATER DIVERTER

This fault code indicates a water diverter fault on your dishwasher.Β The problem is manifested by a continuous supply of power to the switch.

  • If you notice that there are no pulses from the water diverter despite a correct power supply, check the connections and the water diverter switch.
  • Also measure the motor mains voltage.

ERROR CODE E27 – LOW DC VOLTAGE

This error code indicates that the device detects a fault linked to low DC voltage (less than 170 V).Β This is manifested by the end of the current program, but the dishwasher has no faults.Β This is the most common error code on this type of device.

ERROR CODE E28 – AQUASENSOR

This fault code on your dishwasher indicates a fault in the aquasensor.Β In this case, the device works without an aquasensor.

  • First check that your dishwasher model is equipped with this part.Β If yes, then it may be a problem with the calibration of the aquasensor.
  • Check the connection of the latter as well as its cleanliness.Β If it is clogged, it may be the cause of the breakdown.

ERROR CODE E29 – INTERNAL FAULTS

This fault code indicates internal faults.Β The code is accompanied by stopping in the current position of the device.Β It also happens that it does not work or that the functions are defective, giving poor washing and/or drying results.Β The source of the problem is too low a mains voltage (below 170 V/190 V) and not a fault in the device.

ERROR CODE E30 – INTERNAL FAULT

This fault code for your dishwasher indicates that there is an internal fault: it is impossible to turn off the appliance.Β This is a problem that arises following a mains voltage greater than 290 V, the device does not have a fault.

This is the second time I've used the service of #1 appliance repair Shymon. Last autumn I had issues with the dishwasher – it leaked and damaged the floor. This time our fridge stopped cooling properly. Both times the service was great, reasonably priced and efficient. Dishwasher works just fine now, no doubts that the fridge will run fine too.
