Fault codes, also called error codes or fault codes, allow your device toΒ automatically report an internal malfunction.Β Below you will find the list of fault codes for your Electrolux dishwasher and their meaning: this will give you an indication toΒ best diagnose the origin of the malfunction of your applianceΒ Β and identify the faulty component.

The error code can be read directlyΒ on the front panelΒ of your Electrolux dishwasher.Β Depending on the model, you can read this code on a display (for example, “Err 01”) or by observing the number of LED flashes (for example: 4 LED flashes = “Err 04”).

Refer to the user manual for yourΒ Electrolux appliance to find out the exact meaning of the fault code displayed or the lights that flash.Β The number of flashes often corresponds to the error code number, but there are specificities linked to each model and brand.

Here is the list of error codes that you may encounter in an Electrolux dishwasher:

ERROR CODE L1X – FILLING WITH WATER

This fault code indicates that there is aΒ water filling detection problemΒ in your dishwasher:

  • Check the water inlet hose (if it is not cut or damaged), and make sure the faucet is working perfectly.
  • Then check the solenoid valve filter and the solenoid valve itself.Β This part supplies water to your dishwasher and regulates the water flow.Β Replace the solenoid valve if this part is defective.
  • Check that the pressure switch and flow meter are in working order.Β These parts measure the amount of water in your dishwasher.Β Physically, the pressure switch looks like a cylindrical or ovoid part.
  • Check the optical detector.Β This part detects the presence of water in the dishwasher and the degree of soiling of the water

ERROR CODE L2X – DRAIN

This trouble code indicates that there isΒ a draining problemΒ Β in your dishwasher.

  • Check that the water is not too dirty or too clear depending on the time of the program.Β Try to start a new cycle, the device will drain.
  • If there is no drain, check the drain pump of your dishwasher, an unidentified object can sometimes be the cause of a blocked pump propeller.Β Check the pump itself and its winding.
  • Check your machine’s pressure switch and optical sensor.Β If you are unfamiliar with these parts, refer to trouble code l1xΒ .
  • On some dishwasher models, the optical sensor may be defective, check it.
This part detects the presence of water as well as the degree of soiling of the water in your dishwasher.

ERROR CODE L3X – LEAK

This fault code indicates aΒ leak detected on the base of your dishwasherΒ .Β The device goes into permanent draining.

  • Check whether or not there is a leak inside your machine.
  • If there are no leaks, check your device’s leak detector.Β Indeed, the latter may be lacking.

ERROR CODE L4X – PRESSURE SWITCH

This fault code indicates thatΒ the pressure switch fails to calibrateΒ , that is to say, it cannot configure itself correctly.Β Then try to β€œreset” the device to help it.

As a reminder

ERROR CODE L5X – CYCLING PUMP

This trouble code indicates that there isΒ a problem with the rotation of the cycling pumpΒ Β in your dishwasher.

The dishwasher’s cycling pump sends water into the spray arms and recycles the wash water.Β Then check its turbine, its windings and its tachometer, depending on the type of motor fitted to the dishwasher.Β The tachometer is a sensor that informs the electronic management card of your device about the speed of rotation, the direction of rotation and the regularity of rotation of the engine.

ERROR CODE L6X – HEATING

This I6x trouble code indicates that there isΒ a heating problemΒ Β in your dishwasher.

  • Check the resistance of the dishwasher.Β The main role of the resistance is to heat the water in your dishwasher.
  • Check the dishwasher temperature sensor.Β Indeed, the latter may be lacking.

ERROR CODE L7X – TEMPERATURE PROBE

This fault code indicates that there isΒ a problem with the temperature sensorΒ of your dishwasher.

  • This part controls the temperature of the dishwasher and informs the brain of the appliance.Β Then check its value using an ohmmeter: 5 kilo-ohms at 20Β°C.
  • Also check the resistance of the dishwasher.

ERROR CODE L8X – COMMUNICATION

This fault code indicates that there isΒ a communication problem between the electronic modulesΒ Β of your device.

ERROR CODE L9X – PROGRAMMING

This fault code indicates aΒ programming anomalyΒ in your dishwasher.

  • Reprogramming is then necessary to restart your dishwasher.
  • If nothing works, replace the card with an already programmed module.

LBX ERROR CODE – TURBIDITY

This Ibx fault code indicates aΒ problem with the turbidity sensor or optical detectorΒ Β of your dishwasher.

  • The turbidity sensor is a sensor that measures water quality and its limescale content.Β A breakdown in this part can be harmful to the dishwasher.
  • As seen previously, the optical detector detects the presence of water as well as the degree of contamination of the water.

LCX ERROR CODE – COMMUNICATION

This trouble code indicates aΒ communication problem between certain electronic componentsΒ Β in your dishwasher.
Check the display board, motor control electronics, etc. However, this type of problem is in the majority of cases repaired by professionals.Β In fact, they are the only ones to have the appropriate equipment.

ERROR CODE LDX – TACHOMETER SIGNAL

This fault code indicates aΒ fault in the tachometer signal coming from the engineΒ .Β Either the engine is blocked and no longer starts, or this problem is a fault in the tachometer.Β (See I5x fault code)

  • The turbine may be blocked by residue.
  • The start capacitor may be out of order.
  • Check motor and capacitor wires.Β They may be blocked or burned.

ERROR CODE LEX – SPRINKLER SYSTEM

This fault code indicates that there isΒ a problem with the alternating spray systemΒ of the appliance (problem with inversion of the dishwasher wash arms). The arm alternation system must be faulty.

  • Check the micro-motor or positioning system of the device.Β The micro-motor is a small motor component of the programmer determining the sequences or washing cycles of the washing machine.
  • Check if the wash arms have a malfunction.
  • Check the valve allowing successive feeding of the lower and upper reels.

ERROR CODE LFX – FILLING

This fault code indicates thatΒ filling is taking longer than expectedΒ .Β Two phases are possible: either your device has difficulty filling for no apparent reason, or it has difficulty filling because it is emptying at the same time.
If it has trouble filling for no apparent reason:

  • Check that the water tap is open enough and flowing properly
  • Check that the water hose is not kinked or stuck
  • Check that the solenoid valve filter is clean
  • Check that the solenoid valve has the correct flow

If it has difficulty filling because it empties at the same time:

  • Check the drain pump (a video for testing the dishwasher pump is available).

The fault codes stored in the device’s memory can be erased byΒ pressing and holding the start pause button for 5 secondsΒ .
The device can then restart its cycle normally.

This is the second time I've used the service of #1 appliance repair Shymon. Last autumn I had issues with the dishwasher – it leaked and damaged the floor. This time our fridge stopped cooling properly. Both times the service was great, reasonably priced and efficient. Dishwasher works just fine now, no doubts that the fridge will run fine too.
