Fault codes, also called error codes or fault codes, allow your device to automatically report an internal malfunction. Below you will find the list of fault codes for your Electrolux washing machine and their meaning: this will give you an indication to best diagnose the origin of the malfunction of your appliance.
The error code can be read directly on the front panel of your Electrolux washing machine. Depending on the model, you can read this code on a display (for example, “Err 01”) or by observing the lights:
- the colors of the lights:
- Red flashing indicates tens digit
- Units flashing green
- the interpretation of the letters:
- These result in a number of flashes greater than or equal to 10. The letter A means “10 flashes”, B = 11, C = 12, D = 13, E = 14, F = 15, and so on.
This page lists fault codes sorted by tens, where the letter X replaces the ones digit.
Do not hesitate to refer to the instructions for your Electrolux washing machine to find out the exact meaning of the fault code displayed or the lights that flash. The number of flashes often corresponds to the error code number, but there are specificities linked to each model and brand.

If you have a washing machine equipped with a three-phase asynchronous motor (washing machine weighing more than 8 kg and silent), check the electronic motor management board.
ERROR CODE E6X – HEATING
This code means there is a problem with the heating system. Please check the correct functioning of the following elements: immersion heater (resistance), temperature probe, heating relay (on card).
If the problem persists, check the electronic board of your washing machine. If it is defective, replace it.
ERROR CODE E7X – TEMPERATURE PROBE
This code indicates that there is a malfunction in the temperature sensor. Check the value of the CTN type probe, i.e. 5 to 6 Kilo-ohms at 20°.
If the problem persists, check the electronic board of your washing machine. If it is defective, replace it.
ERROR CODE E8X – PROGRAM SELECTOR BUTTON
This code indicates that there is a problem with the program selection button.
This may also be a problem with the water recirculation pump. Please check its condition.
ERROR CODE E9X – ELECTRONIC CARD
This code indicates a problem with the configuration of the electronic card. You must then reconfigure or change it.
EAX ERROR CODE – DRUM
This code means that the drum positioning system is faulty. You need to check that the positioning system is on the pulley.
EBX ERROR CODE – POWER SUPPLY
This fault code indicates that your washing machine is experiencing a power supply problem. Simply unplug your device for a few minutes and plug it back in.
EFX ERROR CODE – INCORRECT USE
This code means that there is improper use of the washing machine. Problems may include:
- too much detergent in the detergent drawer,
- clogged drain filter,
- poorly positioned laundry,
- water inlet tap closed.
E10: Water Inlet Problem
E10 typically indicates an issue with the washing machine’s water supply. It may suggest that the water tap is not turned on, the water inlet valve is clogged, or there is a problem with the water supply.
E20: Drainage Problem
E20 relates to a drainage problem. It may suggest that the washing machine’s drainage system is blocked or not functioning correctly, preventing the machine from draining properly.
E30: Door Lock Error
E30 indicates a problem with the door lock or interlock mechanism. This error can occur if the door isn’t securely closed or if there’s an issue with the locking mechanism.
E40: Door Open During Cycle
E40 suggests that the washing machine’s door was detected as open during a cycle. It may occur if the door isn’t properly closed or if there’s a problem with the door lock.
E50: Motor Issue
E50 typically points to a problem with the washing machine’s motor or motor circuit. It may indicate a motor malfunction or a fault in the motor control circuit.
