The power cord of a steam generator is used to supply the device with electricity. It is essential.
Replace the power cord of your steam generator if:
- the cord is torn in places;
- the cord is broken;
- the cord is cut.
The power cord is located outside the steam generator, at the back. It is an electric cable, often protected by a coating.
REMOVE THE WATER TANK AND OPEN THE STEAM PLANT HOUSING
- Remove the water tank from the steam generator.
- Unscrew the base of the device using a screwdriver: put the screws in a safe place.
- Open the case of the steam generator: pay attention to the wires that connect the two pieces of the device.
DISASSEMBLE THE STEAM PLANT
- Make sure that the wires that connect the two parts of the steam generator are unbundled: if not, use pliers to cut the clip that connects them.
- Detach the power cord attachment: the attachment is inside the steam generator, around the cord entry. Take a screwdriver to remove it.
- Disconnect the wires from the electronic board and from the boiler.
- Remove the power cord from the base of the steam generator: simply pull it.
DISASSEMBLE THE IRON
- Unscrew the back part of the iron using a screwdriver.
- Unscrew the iron cord fasteners using a screwdriver, then remove the handle and swivel from the appliance. Be sure to keep the handle spring.
- Unscrew the fixing located above the connection domino using a screwdriver.
- Memorize the location of the wires on the connection block, using a drawing or a photo. Then unscrew the domino using a flat screwdriver, and detach the wires.
- Remove the power cord: loosen the cord clamps with pliers. Once the cable is removed, keep the clamping ring that was on it and the old pivot of the iron.
WIND THE IRON
- Take the new power cord with the swivel: tighten the cord clamping rings with pliers.
- Reconnect the wires of the connection domino, using your photo or the drawing. Tighten the screws.
- Tighten the fixing screws above the terminal block with a screwdriver.
- Tighten the screws of the cord fasteners using a screwdriver, then replace the handle and the pivot of the device, not forgetting the spring.
- Screw the back base of the iron back on with a screwdriver.
ASSEMBLE THE STEAM PLANT
- Pass the new power cord from the steam generator to the back of the appliance: pass all the wires through correctly.
- Reconnect the electronic board and boiler wires.
- Tighten the screws of the power cord holder with a screwdriver.
- Close the cover of the device: make sure that no wires are in the way.
CLOSE THE STEAM PLANT HOUSING
- Turn the steam generator over: retighten the screws on the appliance base with a screwdriver.
- Replace the steam generator tank.
